Funeral traditions vary around the world, but food is always involved.
Wake, Karamu, Funeral Luncheon, Kich’vo, Mercy Meal, Repast…
All of these words refer to the meal served after a funeral. These meals are not just about food, but about bringing together community, sharing memories, and honoring the deceased through the gathering.
On Sunday, October 20th, from 1-3 pm we hope you will join us to celebrate life, death, and rebirth with community as we bring Death Planted a Garden to a close. We will eat, but we will also sing, share words, and maybe even dance.
This is a shared experience and we ask that you bring a dish or contribute financially. Sign up here.
